Continued from part 1....
As they made their way to the Barbary Coast, a streetwalker recognized Ana. He started waving her over.
Ana and Tizzit did not know who he was, but apparently he knew Ana. He quickly explained that he and Ana had a few wild nights together and wanted to know if she wanted to play again with some deathsticks.
He took a hit or two and become sensitive to the "force". He let them know that the Jedi were indeed around sneaking about the lower levels, after the attack on the Jedi Temple. If they were searching for Aryn, definitely heading to the Barbary Coast would be worthwhile. He became a bit paranoid, and ran into a wall knocking himself out. Tizzit got some stirring of emotions again from Ana, she indeed had a hard life and Tizzit could see why she now became "Kind". This existence was far better off, as she would never be alone and abandoned.
As they made their way to the Casino and Pleasure Palace, R-90 was not far behind. He found the unconscious streetwalker as well, and he told him where to go. R-90 was now back with group, he had received some much need attention and adjustments, and was cleaned-up as best as possible. As they walked into the Casino to mingle, a bouncer let them now that droids are not allowed on the Casino floor and bar. R-90 complied and went to go see what other rooms they had. Sam had decided that he had enough of Casinos, the table and chance slots were calling again. as much as he liked to have played, he was already down a few weeks pay. He and R-90 managed to stumble upon a novice level battle-bots arena.
Here two contestants would fight to the death, droids and their handlers would compete in a demolition style tournament. It was mainly for show, as the only "life" lost was the droids for the amusement and spectacle of the crowd. Sam and R-90 were assumed to be a "Scrap" for some crowd filler and were ushered into the holding area. Three other amateur teens were getting ready for their shot. They each had re-commissioned battle driods. The door opened and both the trainer and droid stepped out. The other two were anxious waiting for their turn. This was something fun that they both enjoyed. Before Sam could get a word out, R-90 walked right up to one of the trainers and shot him point blank, instantly killing him. Sam's eye opened wide in shock. The battle droids powered up in reaction to the shooting. The other enthusiast curled up into a ball in shock. The entire room went on locked down since laser had fired. There was an intense shoot out between the battle droids and R-90. The battle droids were destroyed, in the process and R-90 was hit pretty badly. Sam managed to defend himself well, but the droids went for R-90 only as their protocols would not allow them to harm the living. Again before Sam could say anything, R-90 walked up to the last trainer and shot him dead, "No witnesses". Within a few moments security walked in. Seeing Sam surprised and with out a scratch, they assumed that it was another a "accident". Misfires and technical glitches often occurred, and it was the seventh time this week that there was some type of bloodshed in the waiting areas.
They apologized to Sam and offered him a private repair bay to fix his droid for their trouble.
The rest of the group wandered the casino, and head toward the bar. Khorragh'ga ordered some tea, again it was due to a miscommunication with his device. They tried to get some info, but the bartender was being a bit sassy, telling them simply to go up to level three and just wait in line with everyone else. Zhato Rem was answering question today concerning the "Civil Project". Wanting a direct way to talk to Zhato Rem, the wookie decided to persuade him hi the best Kashyyykian manner possible. He turned off his Vox box and shook him. The bar tender got the hint, and gave him a datacard and told him to go to the elevator and select the third floor using the datacard. As they headed to the elevator, the bar tender alert Zhato Rem that he would be receiving visitors.
They entered the elevator and used the datacard. The elevator went downward and the moved sideways. It traveled for some five minutes before coming to stop. They decided to be prepared and take out their weapons just in case. Immediately the elevators sensors detected the presence of open weapons and initiated a protocol in which gas began to fill up the compartment. Ana was knocked out, and the AI informed them that unless they complied lethal measure would be undertaken. The group did so and compartment ventilated itself, then opened. They were in a beautiful and cool room full of aquariums. It was surreal and they were surrounded by water with all manner of aquatic creatures. It was so peaceful and beautiful. At the center of all this was Zhato Rem, who seemed quite different than his public appearance.
Three companions were attended to him just lounging about when these new guest showed up. An attendant droid escorted them and introduced them. Zhato Rem was smoking and enjoying a drink and entertained this new diversion. Nox asked if he could provided or acquire some some items, and Zhato said he could, which Nox requested some poisons. He was told someone would contact him. Tizzik/Ana, Nox, and Khorragh'ga each attempted to ask about the Jedi and what new of the Temple. As they pushed him more and more for questions, they each in turn lost interest as Zhato influenced their mind to avoid the topic and/or forget about the force. The wookie also learned he had other settings to try out and found a western accent, which seem better suited for the time being. They were told to get back on the elevator and they would be taken to where they would be needed. In a few hours they would soon all forget that they met the real Zhato Rem.
The elevator opened up in a garage where Sam was repair R-90. A female attendant appeared with the requested items for purchase for Nox. The group saw that R-90 was damaged and repairs would take a while, fortunately they all helped out and fixed R-90 within the hour. Tizzit not knowing what else to do contacted the Civil Authority Office of Ty Rhees for some general help. They were directed to a platform level that would take them down to level three, hundreds of levels down. When they got down to level three they entered a "Environmental Security Station". There were six rooms a piece that could accommodate a life forms. Eventually they figured to just step through, they were scanned and then let out into a huge cavernous place. Tizzit and Ana who were still unconscious set off alarms as two life-forms were detected. Tizzit was detected as an unknown parasite of an "alien nature". R-90 destroyed the sensors and freed Tizzit. R-90 would carry Ana, as the next room would just considered him equipment.
The large cavernous area was a huge warehouse of scrap metal. The floor with coasted with a think layer of of red rusted shavings. Huge labor droids wheeled across heaps of scrap iron and sifting through parts. R-90 was able to communicate with one and ask it for directions. It told him that a leader was at the far end of the wall and would tell the other labor droids to be mindful of the group, as not to squish them. When the got to then end of the hall, in a sealed room with a glass window there was a human sleeping in his chair by monitors. The group knocked on the windows which scared the guy. They asked about the transponders, and salvage, and what to do. The man had no idea what they were talking about, but told him that if they were looking for the lower levels they should head down. Sam realizing he was now closer attempted to use the Force to sense other out here, he was surprised when he realized there was at least thirty being in the area, one right under them. They quickly went back to the elevator.... and wait a few minutes for it to descended. When they got to level two, it opened to what seemed like a tunnel that would be used for water reclamation. There was a series of pipes and as soon as they began exploring they encountered a young boy.
He was wearing a survival cloak, and they attempted to get him. R-90 grabbed him and the boy simply phased out and went down. He dropped a small crystal which they kept for examination later.
They ran back to the elevator, and thanks to the wookie he acquired his "staff of door holding", they didn't have to wait for the elevator. They decided to press "001" and ended up on the last floor which seemed to be a hall which accessed the ventilation shafts. Below them they could see two large tubes, and directly above was another. Sam sensed the boy was still above and head back to level two.
Again they carefully walked and took note of the access ports, and in order not get flushed out, R-90 access the locking mechanism to divert any water.
They were able to find the boy again, but it seemed because of Oshua. This was the Padawan Aryn, but he seemed a bit off as he was consulting within an unknown entity. The group began to ask him questions about
what happened at the Jedi Temple. Aryn explained that he almost lost his life to Anakin Skywalker, who slaughtered many. Master I'chael was lost as the others attempted to defend the area. He was told to gather some of the Khyber Crystals, and Oshua helped him escape into the depths of Coruscant. He invited the group to his room, a small maintenance area that was behind the elevator.
