Stars Wars Saga Adventure Path - Episdode I "The Crystalline Heart" Part 02a

Imperial Press Corp Field Report......
Suspected Anti-Republic Group Activity: R-90, Khorrahg'ga, Tizzit/Ana, Sam, Nox Phyre, Padawan Talia (Human Jedi), and Padawan Wrabbler (Kushiban).
Death: Sam

The group had met up with Aryn, and he led them back to a small maintenance room behind the elevator on level 2. Aryn had been hiding here for a few weeks, it was safe and far away from prying eyes. Level three was full of scrapper droids, and at least there was a food dispenser that he got some nourishment bars and water from. Although he was hesitant with these strangers, Oshua had given him the okay, after all the Brodo Asogian with the group was force sensitive and seemed to have a good heart.

Aryn once again went over what had happened, an intruder came into the Jedi Temple, all temple guards were dispatched. Then other Jedi Knights and Masters started to intervene. The Temple went on lock down, and Master Ichael and Master Nu told Aryn to stay within the Archives as they went to deal with the issue. As Aryn was trying to secure and encrypt the files, he heard Oshua's voice. Oshua told him of the gravity of the intruder and directed him to the Vault of the Crystals. On the way there he passed the intruder, and was horrified what he saw. The intruder was none other than Master Skywalker, the hallway littered with the bodies of Jedi and Padawans alike. When he got to the vault, he found a floating crystal directing other Padawans to take some Khyber Crystals. This was Oshua, Aryn was the last Padawan left alive in the temple and directed him to flee. Oshua would use the force to keep him undetected.

Meanwhile back on level 702, Padawan Talia was doing her best to be remain undetected on the lower levels gathering supplies. She had gotten wind of the civil project for "Salvage and Recovery" work offered by the republic. It seems that they were sponsoring a "Transponder Initiative", along with a salvaging operation, and searching for possible Separatists sympathizers and Jedi affiliated refugees. She decided to check it out in hopes that she could get more information on what exactly happened at the Jedi Temple. She was starting her Tests for the Jedi Knighthood, when the attack happened. Fortunately for her she missed that intruder, and when she came out she could sense the slaughter that was taking place. She could hear one Jedi that told her to "RUN", and she didn't hesitate. She knew that he wasn't one to run, and if he reached out and told her....then this attack was dire.
While poking around, she found the typical information that was given by the Imperial Press Corp and Holonet, that an unknown assailant attacked the temple and that the Republic was reaching out to those affiliated with the temple to come forward so they could seek 'support'. What she didn't realize was that a number of bounty hunters, pirates, and other nasty individuals signed up knowing full well that this was a "Separatist" and "Jedi" hunt.  The gobber Lyxalwaxal, head of the Dogslicer Gang, was just reading the wanted list and explaining to his gang who they were hunting when she happened to pass by.

Lyxalwaxal motioned his gang to follow her, with the efficiency of a pack of hungry rats they scattered and disperse in the crowd following her and directing her to an easy spot for ambush. Talia's Jedi instincts kicked in, she could sense she was being followed. The best bet was to get of this level and find a defensive position. The industrial left would be the perfect place and she quickly made her way there. When she got there, she pressed the button, but it seems the lift was stuck on level 2. Just her luck, the 42 gobbers surrounded her with swords and pistols at the ready. As they advanced forward and went in for the kill she whipped out her lightsaber and turned to the elevator doors. She quickly made an opening and kicked the metal panel. It was a long drop by four maintenance droids were floating down to fix an issue. Looking at her option she jumped and managed to position herself on one comfortable as it descended. The gobbers piled up by the opening, shooting widely in frustration, a couple were even pushed in by there fellows and they plummeted some 700 levels to their deaths. She had a long way to go and hopefully could find a safe landing.

Back with the group and Aryn, it seems trouble was afoot. You see Brodo Asogian physiology is kinda odd. Medical experts really don't know if they are just really susceptible to waterborne microbes or human children's immune system. Sam began to become deathly ill, his skin began to peel and started turning white. His voice was more raspy than usually and the glow of his heart started to fluctuate and dim. Before he passed out, the last words he said was "Sammmmmm, Hommmmmmmmme???" Tizzit concerned of her friend did her best to diagnose what was wrong with Sam, she clicked madly trying to figure out what was wrong in a panic. Ana explained that it Sam may have gotten a waterborne contagion here and needed medical attention right away. Nox assumed that the heavy drinking and smoking of his engineer friend had finally gotten to him.
Unbeknownst to many, Sam was a lightweight and a heavy drinker. He also picked up the habit of smoking and playing cards. R-90 would stay with Aryn, and he suggested that they could use the maintenance shaft behind them. It may lead to another level. Tizzit insisted they leave immediately and head up. As they got to the elevator Tizzit and the group encounter Talia who was just coming from the top of the elevator hatch. Tizzit and Ana quickly explained they had a medical emergency and needed to get topside immediately. Khorrahg'ga went to remove his "Rod of Elevator Holding". Unfortunately the elevator was now no longer in service. The door being stuck for more than a couple of minutes had put in a routine service call to maintenance droids. Two bodies had fall from floor 702 and splattered all over the top of the elevator, alerting the maintenance droid of a further issue of impact of unknown origin. The maintenance droid were already performing a diagnostic. Fortunately Nox, Aryn, and R-90 made there way up as there was a lot of commotion. R-90 figured he could easily fix the issue and override the diagnostic protocol and convince the maintenance droids it was ok. However his subroutine maneuver made the droids feel very uncomfortable and they fled in addition to a complete systems failure on Level 2. The power was completely out except for the emergency lights within the elevator. Khorrahg'ga decided to fix the problem in the time and true fashion of wookie engineer, and he rammed the control panel. Not only did he manage to get the power back on to the entire level, the elevator free from its diagnostic mode,  but also all doors and hatches could be heard opening. The sound of thousands of gallons of water rushing toward them was imminent. Everyone ran to the elevator and found that the control were completely smashed.

Aryn reminded them again that there was another hallway just beyond his safe room secured by another manual hatch. R-90 insisted that they make their way there while he attempted to do what he could. R-90 risked his existence trying to close the doors. At first the sub-routines to access the system would not work, but he tried again and managed to identify the valves that were open. He was able to first shutdown the coolant systems, all the hot water was now being diverted to the proper tubes. He tried again and this time managed to properly regulate the flow of basic water supply and re-route the greywater. He managed to the flooding of the entire level, and even got the diagnostic and maintenance system online for ventilation, re-distributing pressure to the proper levels. He then headed to the rest of the party. As they walked along as fast as possible, R-90 attempted to get his location details from another dataport. Khorrahg'ga familiar with ships operation figured as long as they follow the yellow pipes they should find a way out....and sure enough a yellow pipe ran along the ceiling. R-90 managed to find their location, he informed them that a cargo platform and bay were a head as well as a service lift as well. No one that they were being trailed being someone in the vents. Another Padawan who was in hiding was Wrabbler. All the noise and activity attracted him to this vicinity, as well as a disturbance in the force. A tiny ripple of someone who was dying close by.
He watched as a group of being were carrying a small member of their party who seemed deathly ill. As they got to a T-Section and a blaster door they stopped as R-90 was attempting to open the doors. That is when Padawan Wrabbler introduced himself and explained who he was. He felt a disturbance and see if he could ease Sam pain. He went up to touch Sam, Sam's eyes suddenly opened wide his heart began to grow strongly and then just suddenly went out. Sam had discarded the last of his life force as he slipped into a deathly unconsciousness. Tizzit and Ana were shaken over the death of their little friend. Nox said if they could get to the bay, he could contact his captain and get them all out of here. It was just a matter of open he doors and getting to the Cargo bay on this level. As they opened the doors they were completely surprised by the 32 gobbers lined up to shoot them, R-90 quickly closed door as there was an obvious problem in getting out. The sounds of the gobbers could be heard shooting their junkblaster at the door in frustration and banging on it. Some unlucky gobbers were hit by the deflected laser from the blast door, and that is when their leader began taking apart the control panel.
