Stars Wars Saga Adventure Path - Episdode I "The Crystalline Heart" Part 01a

Imperial Press Corp Field Report......
Suspected Anti-Republic Group Activity: R-90 (Scoundrel/Independent Droid), Khorrahg'ga (Wookie Soldier), Tizzit/Ana (Killik Scoundrel), Sam (Brodo Asogian Scoundrel), Nox Phyre (Minbari Soldier/Scout)

It has been a few months after the Separatist War had come to an end. The Republic was trying to heal itself, it was a time of reconstruction and forging of a new way of life after this galactic civil war. The betrayal of the Jedi and attack on Emperor Palpatine hit closely to how close the threat of these Separatist were. Coruscant was in a state of grim fear, who can you trust? The Senate officials fought over as to how to re-incorporate those systems who had left, while others wanted reform, however one things was clear....the scars would be deep and the thought of just retribution was on many minds.

Since the war there has been a number of stranded refugees, many individuals are unable to go home. Trade is restricted and locked up in bureaucratic red tape, as there is a greater security measures in place for contraband and travel to restricted systems. However during these times, their is always an industry and opportunity. Recently the Republic and Civil Infrastructure of Coruscant has offered an open opportunity for individuals to help scour the lower levels for refugee and to install transponders.

This is where our filed report begins......

Manager Ty Rhees, who is one of the head administrator for Corsucnt's Civil Board had announced plans an and initiative to help ferret out possible Separatists, Spies, and missing Jedi under a Civil Labor Service Plan.
Working with the criminal elements who controlled the lower levels of Coruscant, they would not impede and would help find items of interest for the Emperor. Thus Zhato Rem, Y'laxal, and Yug Olalth would assist.
Zhato Rem is the largest information and trade dealer in the lower levels, he runs a number of casinos and makes it his business to be in the know. Y'laxal is a Twi'lek madam who runs the pleasure services of the lower levels, and she is also an information broker. Yug Ollalth, another Twi'lek, supplies muscle and protection through either Y'laxal or Zhato Rem. Either way, the Republic is just "simply" installing transponders, salvaging, and aiding and lost Jedi and their affiliates. This was an open assembly to all takers interested on level 702.

Tizzit and Ana went over to two individuals who seemed to be discussing what they would do. The Brodo Asogian's eyes widened as the giant insectoid and human approached. The Minibari turned around abruptly to see what had troubled his friend. Ana jumped in front quickly and introduced themselves.
It was very unusual as it seemed the insectoid was named Tizzit and she using an as some sort of interface. She quickly explained she was of the "Kind", and Ana and Tizzit are a "We". They were interested in the job, not only for making credits but also associates.

Khorrahg'ga, a wookie, was stranded on Coruscant as his planet was on the restricted list because of the war. All communication was cut off and he had no idea how is family and friends were. He needed a job and this was a great opportunity and easy money. As people paired up, he noticed one small group and walked up to them and introduced him self. Unfortunately they were not well versed is Shyriiwook. To make things comical, Tizzit felt that she had an understanding of Thykarann which close enough and begin misinterpreting everything he said.

R-90 had been watching and observing from the crowds. He blended in well as many of the individuals here ranged from the destitute to the common man looking to make a few credits. However when the announcement were finished, most people already had per-arranged groups of associates or co-workers.
The few individuals that just came here looking for work quickly found someone. One group in particular caught his eye as the wookie in question was getting aggravated about not being understood by the huge bug. R-90 limped over and offered his services an an interpreter. This made things easier for the group and they all were able to properly introduce themselves.

The Brodo Asogian was Sam and he was an engineer for a starship. His associate, Nox Phyre a colonial Minbari, also served aboard the vehicle as security. Currently they were looking for extra work as there was a lot of red tape going on with security concerning transit too and from Coruscant. Tizzit and her companion Ana wanted the opportunity to make some quick credits and associates. Korragha' finally introduced himself and let them know he needed some credits as well. He could get home and all communication was cut off from Kashyyyk. R-90 was familiar with some of the lower level, and would be able to help them. None was to concerned who he was working for, after all he was just a droid.

Then soon found and administration droid and signed up. They were reminded that it was a very simple job;

-Go down to the lower levels and put up transponders to boost comlinks.
-Find an Salvage and report unusual activity
-If they encountered hostile Jedi, deal with them.
-If they encountered friendly Jedi, then bring them in for help.
-After two days of a working transponder locations, they would be compensated.

However, before they would go down into the lower levels they wanted to know some more information. Especially about the Jedi. After talking with an Admin droid, Tizzit and Ana were able to get a file of encrypted Jedi names. Sam was able to unlock the encryption key found in the attachment and read part of the file. He got two names, Padawan Aryn and Master I'Chael, before he got distracted by Ana's personal e-mail log. It seemed there was a lot of drama and a bad relationship Ana was involved in. There were a series of really candid shot and dramatic messages....it was very intriguing. Ana began to remember what was on her datapad as she saw Sam react, both her and Tizzit shared an unusual emotional response; embarrassment...it was a sensation unknown to Tizzit. With a lead, they tried to think were they could get more some information, and decided to visit one of the guild members at the assembly, Zhato Rem. Zhato Rem ran the nearby junker sectors of Dollatre on levels 702 to 648. These neighborhood contained pleasure palaces and casinos. What ever vise you wanted to indulge in, Zhato Rem probably had an establishment for you.

R-90 took this opportunity to excuse himself, he went back to the Admin droid to ask if they new anyone who would be friendly to work on a droid under the radar. Fortunately for him, he had approached a droid, who discretely handed him a datachip with such a location and went back to work. Intrigued, but cautious he followed the instruction and it lead him to a deserted alleyway behind a casino. There was a plain doorway in the wall of the building, it was nondescript. He knocked on the door and a circular hold opened up, a sensor droid extended itself out and transmitted in binary "what do you want?". R-90 began to tell it that he was sent here. The droid flipped over and revealed a slot, which R-90 stuck the data card in. It retracted back into the door and the door opened. It was pitch black and with an ounce of his electric courage he stepped into the unknown. The lights flickered on and in front of him he saw that he was on a conveyor belt. On either side there were rows and rows of junked droid parts shelved and hanging about. The conveyor began to move forward slowly. When it finally approached the end near a wall, another door opened and he was in a large room with piles of droid parts and some maintenance bays. Opposite him was an old Brodo Asogian working on a small golden toy of some sort. The tinker paid him no heed, until he walked right up to him. Kenner looked up and simply said "what do you want". R-90 quickly explained his joint troubles, and Kenenr just pointed to him and said "Scaps, fix what?". R-90 held up his hand and then pointed to his leg and asked how much. Kenner just looked at him and asked "How Much you have?". There was just 1,500 IC he had left, and Kenner would fix him...but it was a choice between the arm or the foot. R-90 made his choice for hands, and with that Kenner told him to power down and wait at the re-charging area.

Meanwhile, Khorrahg'ga also wandered off to a nearby area to pick up a Vox device at 'Radio Shack'. The place was filled with batteries of all sorts and some outdated tech, However, the owber told him about a Vox that uses holonet to translate for you with a variety of voice option. Khorrahg'ga came out with his new device anxious to show his friends.

His associates in the meantime decided to ask one of the local food vendor who was selling Giant Nemodian Braised Butter Grubs, with three traditional sauces. He was a former senator from Nemodia who was trapped here and scrapping by. He had seen better days and had actually tried to salvage his planet's reputation in the Senate. Sadly his investments with the Trade Federation where frozen and the operation centers and consulate for Nemodia was seized by the Republic during the war. Fortunately as a youth he worked in the kitchen with his mother at times, and at least learned another useful skill. Tizzit was anxious to find some trace of Aryn and asked if he new anyone here who would no about this young man. The former senator found this rather ludicrous, as he pointed out the obvious that this sector was no place for children.
On one side you have casinos and gambling dens, while the other side offered and many manner of brothels and such. If they did want some they should seek out Zhato Rhem, after all he knew of what on in "his town".
The wookie found his friends, as it was not hard to find with Tizzit standing out. He created them with his new Vox box speaking in "Imperial Basic". The group was taken off guard by the genteel nature of their friend, but it seemed the Vox box had trouble in finding the appropriate auto setting.

They decided then to head to the casinos, they walked into a random one that seemed interesting. Sam was impressed by the bright lights....and was a bit of a gambler. Soon Sam was playing a game with chance cubes at the table. Luck seemed not to be with him, but the crowd he was generating was gather attention. The people cheered him on, a waitress bought him a drink, and he felt really good. As usually the casino knew what it was doing, manipulating things to its advantage. Poor Sam lost a lot of money, but was comped a free massage. During the massage he found out that Zhato Rem could be found at the Barbary Coast in the 'Red Light District' of all places. As they were leaving R-90's managed to catch up to them.
